1985: Harvey Tool Company Founded
Harvey Tool Company is founded by John Harvey. Mr. Harvey sees an untapped opportunity in the cutting tool industry to build a company focused on niche products that are typically unavailable by other manufacturers: “Your Specials Are Our Standards” The first Harvey Tool Company flyer, a one page black and white, is created.
1990: First Harvey Tool Company Catalog
The one page flyer grows to a catalog with 8 pages and 64 tools.
2002: Authorized Distributors
Harvey Tool Company makes a strategic decision to eliminate selling direct to end-user accounts and focuses resources on building stronger relationships with distributor partners across the US & Canada. Authorized Harvey Tool Distributors provide stronger end-user onsite support and become an extension to the Harvey Tool Sales Team.
2004: Peter Jenkins Joins Harvey Tool Company as President
Manufacturing consulting expert and financial leader, Peter Jenkins brings seasoned management experience to prepare the company for future growth.
2007: Peter Jenkins Purchases Harvey Tool Company
Peter Jenkins takes the lead as President and Owner of Harvey Tool Company. John Harvey retires.
2008: Distribution Rationalization
Harvey Tool Company begins a distributor rationalization process, limiting and eliminating distributors to build better partnerships with distributors who are actively supporting end-users and promoting the Harvey Tool brand. Within the first two years of this initiative, Harvey Tool Company eliminates more than 160 distributors.
2010: 25th Anniversary of Harvey Tool Company
Harvey Tool Company celebrates its 25th Anniversary and releases a 120 page catalog containing over 5,000 specialty tools!
