but the .093 8x-loc is in my 14k machine... making super pretty side wall cuts... Would recommend holding these tools as tight as you possibly can, the axial pull is huge on these little monsters..

After speaking with the tech at Harvey. We discovered the problem was not the SFM but the contact of the tool to the bottom of the slot. I was plunging .001 in the z depth to finish the bottom of the slot. While the tool is end cutting the face gash is very small and the .001 that I was plunging was just too much for such a small diameter to handle the solution was to ramp down very lightly and the tool worked fine. Great finish and no chatter.

I ordered the .078 5 flt with .406 loc. The reccomended SFM is 1000 as I am cutting 6061 with a chip load of .001/tooth. The machine I have can only obtain 14000 or 300SFM. I used a lower chip load .0005/tooth. The tool broke almost on contact. The holder I am using has only about .0003 runout so no it was not that. I seem to have better luck with the 3flt mills when I get that small. Anyone have any luck with these?
